If no AI activity is appearing in the Origin console for a macOS endpoint, there are two things to check.

1. Confirm the agent is installed and running

Both the agent and its watchdog must be up. The watchdog starts at boot and is responsible for keeping the core agent alive.
Two entries should appear — com.origin.watchdog and com.origin.agent — each with a non-zero PID in the first column. You can also check the Origin icon in the macOS menu bar: a green dot means the agent is healthy. The menu’s Diagnostic Report gives a fuller picture and is worth attaching to any support ticket.

2. Confirm Full Disk Access is granted

The agent needs Full Disk Access to read application logs and detect AI tooling installed in user-scoped locations. Without it, the agent runs but captures nothing.
  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
  2. Find Origin.app in the list.
  3. Confirm its toggle is on. If Origin.app isn’t listed, click +, navigate to /Applications, select Origin.app, and click Open, then toggle it on.
The agent starts capturing as soon as the toggle is enabled — no reinstall or reboot required.
On MDM-managed fleets, Full Disk Access is pre-approved by the privacy-preferences (PPPC) profile, so it should already be granted. If it isn’t, the profile likely didn’t reach the endpoint — see MDM Overview.
