# Skills: Upload Custom Behaviors to the Origin AI Assistant

> Skills are uploadable units of behavior that extend what Origin can do on your behalf — reference them in chat, agent runs, or automated workflows.

**Skills** are uploadable units of behavior that you make available to Origin. Once a skill is uploaded, it can be referenced anywhere Origin acts on your behalf — in the chat interface, in agent runs, or as part of a workflow.

## Skills List View

The Skills page is the central place to manage everything you've taught Origin. When you first arrive, the page shows an empty state with the prompt *No skills yet — upload your first.*

The page includes the following controls:

* **Skills list** (center) — every skill uploaded to your tenant, displayed with its name and description.
* **Search skills…** — a type-ahead search box that filters across skill name and description once you have skills uploaded.
* **Include archived** toggle (top right) — show or hide skills you've archived. Archived skills are excluded from the active list by default, so toggling this on lets you review or restore them.
* **Date range picker** and **provider rail** — the same scope controls used across the rest of the dashboard; use them to filter what's shown in context.

## Uploading a Skill

Click **+ Upload skill** in the top-right corner of the Skills page to add a new skill. If you haven't uploaded anything yet, you can also click the **Upload your first skill** button that appears in the center of the empty state — both actions open the same upload flow.

<Tip>
  Use skills to encode recurring analysis patterns or org-specific investigation workflows. For example, if your team regularly audits a particular endpoint's prompt activity before a release, capture that sequence as a skill so any analyst can invoke it consistently from chat or an automated agent run.
</Tip>

## Archiving and Restoring Skills

When a skill is no longer actively needed but you want to keep it for reference, archive it rather than deleting it. Archived skills are hidden from the default list and from the agent's active skill set — they won't be invoked unless you explicitly restore them. Toggle **Include archived** to bring them back into view, then take action from the skill's row.
